I cannot tell you how betrayed we Americans are by the lack of professional integrity of Associated Press reporters Calvin Woodward and Hope Yen regarding President Trump’s July 25th, telephone call to Ukraine’s President Zelensky in their ‘Fact Checks‘, and by the managing editor for allowing such a travesty of the truth. Adam Schiff’s sins are even worse because he was in a legal proceeding and outright lied.  In Just Facts Daily’s recent post on the reasons President Trump gave for releasing the transcript of the telephone call, the Calvin and Yen’s blatant falsehoods go beyond mere differences in political perspective, and have become a betrayal of every professional ethic a journalist ascribes to by Woodward and Yen, and describes the outright perjury of Adam Schiff.

Just Facts Daily beautifully critiques the Fact Check and Adam Schiff.  I encourage you to read it carefully to see how out of control the left has become all because they do not like the President who was duly elected by the American people. Beyond that, as an Independent I have a few points to make on what this kind of betrayal tells us about our government and the Fourth Estate.

  • We expect our Representatives to be honest about the facts, especially when they have a JD degree as Adam Schiff does.  If the transcript says one thing and you tell others something completely different in a formal legal proceeding similar to a Grand Jury, then it sounds like perjury to me.   You are not allowed to give it a ‘political spin’. Schiff should be disbarred.  President Clinton was disbarred for lying in the same proceeding related to his impeachment; Adam Schiff should be held to the same standard.
  • There needs to be more awareness of where the dividing line between politics and serious business of the people falls.  The hysteria resulting from not winning the 2016 election has skewed the better judgment of the more liberal members of the House of Representatives, and they have lost sight of where truth resides.  Lies are inappropriate as far as the American people are concerned and some people seem to have lost sight of that.
  • Calvin Woodward and Hope Yen need to review the professional ethics given on the website of the Society of Professional Journalists, the preamble of which is Members of the Society of Professional Journalists believe that public enlightenment is the forerunner of justice and the foundation of democracy. Ethical journalism strives to ensure the free exchange of information that is accurate, fair and thorough. An ethical journalist acts with integrity.”  The very next sentence is Seek Truth and Report It.   They should listen and learn.

There are some people so addicted to exaggeration
that they can’t tell the truth without lying.
