Courage combined with integrity is the foundation of character.  ”
Brian Tracy

In this Age of Propaganda where everyone has a hidden agenda and rewrites history while they promote that agenda, where CAN we go to get the information we need about our world?  It is dangerous to think only one side has all the truth.  If we go down that path, we are making the very mistakes we accuse others of committing.  The narrow path to truth is steep on both sides with many opportunities to fall in either direction.  We need to be more intelligent than just rejecting dishonesty and corruption. Without moving forward toward a better government led by people of integrity and honor, we do nothing to change what is.  If we are serious about finding truth in this political world we have today, then we must admit a few facts

  • there is truth on all sides of the issue
  • no one person has all the truth
  • truth is rarely convenient to any side of the issue

All truth passes through three stages: First it is ridiculed, second it is violently opposed and third it is accepted as being self-evident”  unknown

We must own that there is no one source for truth.  That said, we can have a system about how we get our information that will better inform us, and in this world, that knowledge is power.  When you go to rallies, town hall meetings and caucuses or demonstrations, you can speak about specific issues and their record on them.  When history is redefined to suit their agenda, you will have the facts and figures to correct them in public in front of those they wish to convince otherwise.    If you are challenged, you will be able to stand your ground because you actually made the effort to research and uncover the truth where they are making the effort to hide it.

Integrity without knowledge is weak and useless, and knowledge without integrity is dangerous and dreadful. ”

Samuel Johnson

So where do we go today if we want to find the truth? I look for investigative reporters and news sources that have investigative researchers who give me the references I can review for myself. I also read both sides of an issue.  Why would I read both sides of an issue?  I want to know what the opposition says.  I look at their complaints… it does not matter if I agree or not; it matters that I KNOW what they see as a problem with the opposition and look for the sources of why they believe what they say.  IF YOU DO THAT, you will find the source of contention and likely the reason there is disagreement.  In my post on The Lack of Integrity of Associated Press Reporters, you see where the opposition’s evidence is researched and discredited because investigative researchers followed the facts, stood behind the truth and published what they found.

For you to begin or continue your journey to truth,  I can recommend two websites for unbiased and honest research that deserves the support of the American people and that is JustFacts.org and JustFactsDaily.org.  I have no vested interest in them beyond this… I donate annually to them so they will be able to continue their mission of providing rigorously researched facts on the issues, and I quote them often.

Truth only reveals itself when one gives up all preconceived ideas.  ”
